Fluorite is a form of calcium fluoride. It is often used in iron smelting, but it's beautiful colors make it an excellent inlay material. 

Fluorite is said to have calming properties. It is supposed to help us concentrate and balance our energies. It's also fairly soft; only a 4 on the Mohs hardness scale.
