Very nice subtile effect with comment

Looks gorgeous in a black ring blank. One thing to note though is that the material remains pretty dark. I had expected the bits of color to provide more contrast. It still looks great and the colors are not lacking but it wasn't quite what I had envisioned.

On my next ring I will put down some pigment to raise the layer of opals closer to the surface and possibly adding some very small scraps of copper foil. Maybe that will get a little more sparkle. Looking forward to trying that this weekend.

Fire Opal IS 🔥

The girlfriend saw someone with a fire opal pendant and asked me to make her a ring. The granules were perfect size to set in an inlay and easy enough to crush some to fill in the gaps. Quality and sparkle.
