Blue sandstone brings an eye-catching shimmer to any ring. Whether used in chunks or crushed to a dust, it adds a beautiful blue hue that resembles a starry night sky.
Also known as blue goldstone or monk's gold, this inlay is formed by melting quartz sand, cobalt, feldspar, manganese, chromium, and copper in a process believed to have been created in the 17th Century in Venice. This technique was a carefully guarded secret for centuries. This stone sits at a 6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale.
If you'd like smaller sand-sized fragments or powdered blue sandstone, leave us a message on the checkout page.

Great color and depth. Cut meteorite chunk into mountains, the blue sandstone made a great night sky. Will purchase more for my stock
This stuff is gorgeous. Pictures don't do it justice.
